asked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the increase or decrease in the Retail Price Index in the period 1st July, 1970, to 30th November, 1970; and what were the comparable figures in each of the last eight years.

The General Index of Retail Prices relates to a Tuesday near the middle of each month. The latest figure available is that for 20th October, 1970.Following are the percentage increases between mid-June and mid-October in each of the years 1962 to 1970:
