asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he proposes to take steps to make the findings of the Maxwell Stamp Report, in so far as they refer to the private hire car trade, applicable to other parts of Great Britain.

The recommendations of the Committee on the London Taxi- cab Trade are still being considered. It is too early to say how far any of them will be applicable to places outside London.
