asked the Secretary of State for Employment how much money was provided by his Department to help industry with the training of its employees in Wales in 1965–65, 1966–67 and 1969–70; how much of the money was in the development area; and how much in the intermediate area.

Grants paid through the industrial training boards cannot be apportioned to particular areas. The amounts paid directly to new and expanding firms in Wales were negligible in 1964–65 when these grants were first introduced. Following is the information for the later years:
