asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will review his Department's attitude to the grant of industrial development certificates in the North-West Surrey area in the light of the loss of employment opportunities that is likely to result from the decision not to proceed with the BAC 311 project.

In operating the industrial development certificate policy the local employment situation is always taken fully into account. North-West Surrey is fortunately an area of low unemployment with a high demand for all types of labour, and particularly for skilled engineers.
