Mr. Arthur Lewis
asked the Prime Minister whether, in support of his policy of encouraging workers to undertake a full week's work, to discourage strikes and stoppages &c., he will make it a practice of his Administration that Ministers should refrain from attending race meetings, sporting events and other pleasure activities in their Ministerial capacities during normal working hours on a week-day.
The Prime Minister
No. My right hon. and hon. Friends already work far more than normal working hours, and have to carry out their representational duties when they arise.
