asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the concern of parents and staff about the continued uncertainty as to the future of Jordanhill College School; and if he will now announce a decision.

I have today informed the Governors of Jordanhill College of Education that I am prepared to agree to the continuation of Jordanhill College school as a demonstration school, and I have asked them to review their policy in relation to school fees and selection with the aim of ensuring that the school will continue to make an effective contribution to teacher training.
