asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in view of the fact that the Velasquez portrait of Juan de Parega has now been sold to an overseas buyer, she will review the existing purchase grant available from public funds to the trustees of the National Gallery.

The purchase grant for the National Gallery is settled quinquennially. This is the first year of the current period. No review is being undertaken.
