asked the Secretary of Slate for Scotland what progress has been made towards the integration of general practitioners in the work of specialist maternity hospitals in Glasgow.

I understand that agreement has just been reached between the Western Regonal Hospital Board and the Glasgow Local Medical Committee about arrangements for access by general practitioners to beds in certain specialist units. These arrangements will be implemented as soon as possible; general practitioners already have access to beds at the Belvidere and Southern General specialist maternity units.
