asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which national museums and art galleries have expressed approval of the Government's proposal to impose charges for admission, and which have expressed disapproval.

Negotiations with the national museums and galleries are not complete and my noble Friend is not at this stage ready to report on them. Public expressions of disapproval of the proposal to charge for admission have been made by the Trustees of the National Portrait and Tate Galleries.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when the details relating to museum charges are to be announced.
