asked the Minister of State for Defence what arrangements are being made in connection with the defence run-down in Singapore to retain separate schools, hospitals, swimming pools and recreational facilities for the British forces remaining in Singapore after the end of 1971.

We are studying the educational, medical and recreational facilities needed for our forces in Singapore after 1971 and will be discussing these with the Singapore Government. At this stage I cannot give details of the arrangements that will be made.
