asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will now publish the results of the investigation into the widely publicised allegations made in May and June, 1970, that live foetuses were being sold for research, without waiting for a further long-term inquiry.

The investigation resulted in a decision to take no further action beyond the setting up of the inquiry referred to in my reply on 1st December to the hon. Member for Roxburgh, Selkirk and Peebles (Mr. David Steel), and the letter sent to nursing homes approved under the Abortion Act.—[Vol. 807, c. 326.]
