Mr. Arthur Lewis
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she is aware that on any terms for Great Britain's entry into the European Economic Community the criterion will be the free interchange of labour between the countries of the Six and Great Britain; what action she intends to take to arrange for an adequate supply of qualified teachers for the purpose; and what is her estimate of the costs of these changes in our educational programme.
Mr. van Straubenzee
I do not expect that there will be any large or early effect upon the supply of teachers in this country if we join E.E.C.
