asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he expects to publish the White Paper on Metrication; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Ridley
We cannot yet say when the White Paper on Metrication will be published but it will be as soon as possible. We do not wish to anticipate its content at this stage by any further statement.
