asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will now give further guidance to local authorities in Wales to try and ensure uniformity in the method of granting concessionary fares for retirement pensioners.

That is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment with whom I am in consultation. I understand that local authority and bus operator associations are not generally in favour of a standard formula.
