asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether the investigations which he conducts into complaints of negligence made to him in relation to any of his Department, including those concerning the enforcement of the Companies Act, include the interviewing and taking of verbal statements from the complainants.

The form of any investigation would depend on the nature of the complaint. An interview is not excluded.
