Dr. Dickson Mabon
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when housing cost yardsticks were last increased and by what percentage; when he next intends to make a further increase and by how much; and if he will make a statement on the position in Scotland, bearing in mind recent decisions on these matters taken by the Government affecting other parts of the United Kingdom.
Mr. Gordon Campbell
The Scottish housing indicative costs have been increased twice this year, by 7 per cent. in April and 5 per cent. in October. They will continue to be kept under review and revised as necessary.
