Maintenance Orders (Reciprocal Enforcement) Money

Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved,

That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make provision, applying throughout the United Kingdom, in place of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act 1920 and to make provision with a view to the accession by the United Kingdom to the United Nations Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance, done at New York on 20th June 1956, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of—
  • (a) any sums ordered by a court under any provision of that Act to be paid out of moneys so provided; and
  • (b) any increase attributable to the provisions of that Act in the sums payable under the Legal Aid and Advice Act 1949 or the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1967 out of moneys so provided.—[Mr. Patrick Jenkin.]
