asked the Secretary of State for Wales which areas in Wales are designated as suitable for growth and therefore will receive financial resources to assemble land as announced by the Secretary of State for the Environment.

The main areas of highest pressure for housing are in South-East Wales, but I will be willing to consider on their merits applications for loan sanction for land assembly purposes from anywhere in Wales.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of the £80 million announced by the Secretary of State for the Environment to help local authorities to assemble land is estimated to be spent in Wales.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of the £80 million being made available for loans to local authorities for housing purposes will be allocated for Welsh authorities.

Separate arrangements are being made in Wales, under which any additional loan sanctions necessary for the purpose of land assembly will be granted.
