Notes:

The figures used for gross weekly earnings are estimates of the average weekly earnings of all full-time adult males (all industries) at October each year.

The figures of take-home pay do not include family allowances (£0·90 per week for all years) but the tax on the family allowance and " clawback " have been taken into account.
