asked the hon. Member for Chelsea, as Second Church Estates Commissioner, what is the number of tenancies in residential properties in London of which the Church Commissioners are landlords.

At 31st March 1973 the commissioners owned 6,030 units of residential accommodation in the Greater London area within their direct letting control. Some 2,700 further residential properties were let on long leases, the lessees being occupiers or responsible for letting the units of accommodation.
