asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will establish separate negotiating machinery for pay and conditions in Scotland between medical practioners and the Government.

Remuneration, in so far as it is not dealt with by the Review Body, and terms and conditions of service for doctors in the National Health Service are in general negotiated on a Great Britain basis, though some matters of particular relevance to Scotland are negotiated in Scotland. I have no proposals for altering these arrangements.
