asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the specific proposals which he has received from local authorities regarding solutions for the difficulties they are experiencing in finding and retaining planning staff of the necessary calibre and in necessary numbers, following the public request by the Minister for Planning and Local Government in London on 25th October that they should supply such information in order to assist

quarter of 1975 and the first three quarters of 1974.

the Government's plans for the public ownership of building land.

I have not made any such request to local authorities. But the manpower implications of the land proposals are among the issues that I am discussing with the local authority associations.
