asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he intends to take on the report of the East Anglia Strategy Team "Strategic Choice for East Anglia"; and if he will make a statement.
The report to which my hon. Friend refers was published on 23rd January. A copy is available in the Library, and further copies have been sent to hon. Members whose constituencies are wholly or partly in the East Anglia Region. The report will also be available for purchase from Her Majesty's Stationery Office and the usual agents.I welcome "Strategic Choice for East Anglia" as a valuable contribution to regional planning. After consideration of views that may be expressed upon the report by the Regional Economic Planning Council, the local authorities and the public, and after a departmental study of the report, the Government will give their opinion on the extent to which the detailed proposals it contains may be acceptable as guidance to the local planning authorities in dealing with structure planning.
