Mr. Normanton
asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether she is satisfied with the progress to date in eliminating the spurious invoicing of entries for inclusion in trade and telegraphic directories.
Mr. Alan Williams
I am not satisfied with the directory entry provisions of the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971, which have not proved effective in putting an end to this practice. Measures to strengthen them are included in the Unsolicited Goods and Services (Amendment) Bill, which has the support of the Government.
