I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that of the 2,328 males and 123 females made redundant consequent on the closure of BSC Irlam, 466 males and four females are still registered as unemployed. The

On 11th November 1974, 554 people were unemployed in Irlam. The most recent figures showing age and length of time unemployed are for July 1974 and the following table shows information for July 1970, 1973 and 1974. Owing to industrial action at local offices of the Employment Service Agency, figures for December 1974 and the normal half-yearly age and duration anlysis for January 1975 are not available.
