asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many experimental and research establishments attached to the Ministry of Defence there are in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively; and how many Service personnel and civilians are employed in these establishments in each of the three countries.

Experimental and research establishments in the Ministry of Defence occupy 44, seven and three sites in England, Scotland and Wales respectively.The total number of Service personnel and civilians employed on 1st January 1975 by the Ministry of Defence at these establishments are as follows:
