asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what discussions he has had with the National Council for Civil Liberties regarding the establishing of full-time law centres on the lines of those already operating in London and other parts of England; and if he will make a statement.

I have had correspondence with the National Council for Civil Liberties on this subject. I am currently considering the general question of the extension of legal services in Northern Ireland with particular reference to the law centres and I hope to be in a position to take decisions on these matters in the near future.
