Owing to industrial action at local offices of the Employment Service Agency the normal quarterly analysis by duration of unemployment is not available for January 1975 and the most recent figures are for October 1974. The following table shows information for each October from 1962 and for each September from 1948, when the current series of unemployment statistics started, to 1961. The rates have been calculated by expressing the numbers unemployed for more than 26 weeks as a percentage of the estimated number of employees, including the unemployed.
