asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many unskilled male labourers are unemployed for every unskilled male labouring vacancy.

Meaningful comparisons of this kind cannot be made because unemployed males registered as labourers will also be considered for a wider range of vacancies. The following table shows a broad occupational

The following table shows the available information for February each year. The vacancy figures relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices and are not a measure of total vacancies.analysis of unemployed males recorded at employment offices and of notified unfilled vacancies for the major groups comprising mainly manual occupations, other than craft and similar occupations in processing and production industries, at September 1974. Owing to industrial action at local offices of the Employment Service Agency the usual quartely figures are not available for December 1974.
