Mr. Lawson
asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the total cost of supplementary benefit paid to strikers and their families last year; and what were the comparable figures for each of the previous 10 years.
Mr. O'Malley
Supplementary benefit of £5,041,047 was paid to strikers and their families during 1974. The total is made up of £46,957 for strikers themselves and £4,994,090 for the families of strikers.
