Oecd Aid

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what, for each year since 1970, have been the financial amounts, expressed as £ sterling, allocated by Governments of all OECD countries for overseas aid; what have been the equivalent amounts given by the private sectors; and what these figures represent individually, and when added together, as percentages of each country's gross national product.

It is not possible to provide information on flows from those OECD members not represented on the Development Assistance Committee. However, the levels of official and private flows—with the official development assistance element of the former shown separately—for each of the 18 members of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development are given below. Each figure is also expressed in percentage GNP terms.
