asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will take steps to ensure that there are facilities in Norfolk for the accommodation of juvenile girls on remand who require secure custody.

The children's regional plan for area 6—East Anglia —includes six secure places for girls in a new observation and assessment centre to be provided in Peterborough. These places may be used for girls remanded to the care of all local authorities in the region including Norfolk. Provisional approval has been given for this project to be included in the capital programme for 1975–76.
