Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions)

Mr. Frederick Peart, supported by Mr. Secretary Jenkins, Mr. Secretary Ross, Mr. Secretary John Morris, Mr. Secretary Rees, Mr. Joel Barnett, Mr. Alan Williams, Mr. Edward Bishop, Mr. Hugh Brown, and Mr. Gavin Strang, presented a Bill to dissolve the Sugar Board; to provide for increasing the amount which may be advanced under section 2 of the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation Act 1956; to amend the provisions of Part I of the Agriculture Act 1967 relating to the Meat and Livestock Commission and their committees; to provide for the making of grants in connection with proficiency tests in crafts related to agriculture; to authorise measures to restrict the growing of male hop plants; to make further provision for obtaining agricultural statistics; to provide for the adaptation of certain enactments to metric units; to provide for regulating the exportation of animals in the interests of their welfare; to make further provision for preventing the transmission of disease from wild life to animals and poultry; to amend the law relating to agricultural holdings; to amend section 29(4) of the Agriculture Act 1970; and for purposes connected with those matters: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. Prevention Of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions)

Mr. Secretary Jenkins, supported by The Prime Minister, Mr. Secretary Callaghan, Mr. Secretary Ross, Mr. Secretary Rees, Mr. Attorney-General, The Lord Advocate, and Dr. Shirley Summerskill, presented a Bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1974: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time to-morrow and to be printed. Moneylenders (Crown Agents)

Mr. Reginald Prentice, supported by Mr. Edmund Dell, Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Edward Rowlands, and Mr. John Grant, presented a Bill to make provision as to the application to the Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations, and bodies corporate wholly owned by them, of the Moneylenders Acts 1900 to 1927 and the Moneylenders Acts (Northern Ireland) 1900 to 1969: And the same was read the First time: and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. National Coal Board (Finance)

Mr. Secretary Benn, supported by Mr. Secretary Foot, Mr. Secretary Varley, Mr. Secretary Ross, Mr. Secretary John Morris, Mr. Joel Barnett, Mr. Albert Booth, and Mr. Alexander Eadie, presented a Bill to increase the limit of the borrowing powers of the National Coal Board; to provide for reimbursing to the Board out of public money certain expenditure of theirs in respect of the mineworkers' pension scheme; and to extend the purposes for which grants may be made, under section 7 of the Coal Industry Act 1973, towards the cost of stock-piling coal and coke: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. Northern Ireland (Loans)

Mr. Secretary Rees, supported by Mr. Joel Barnett, Mr. Stanley Orme, Mr. Roland Moyle, and Mr. Concannon, presented a Bill to make further provision with regard to the making of loans to the Consolidated Fund of Northern Ireland: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. Oecd Support Fund

Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, supported by Mr. Edmund Dell, Mr. Joel Barnett, Mr. Robert Sheldon, and Mr. Denzil Davies, presented a Bill to enable effect to be given to an international agreement establishing a financial support fund of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. Freshwater And Salmon Fisheries (Scotland)

Mr. Secretary Ross, supported by Mr. Hugh Brown, and Mr. Robert Sheldon, presented a Bill to make new provision with respect to freshwater and salmon fisheries in Scotland; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. Aircraft And Shipbuilding Industries

Mr. Secretary Varley, supported by The Prime Minister, Mr. Secretary Foot, Mr. Secretary Shore, Mr. Secretary Mason, Mr. Secretary Ross, Mr. Secretary John Morris, Mr. Secretary Rees, Mr. Reginald Prentice, Mr. Edmund Dell, Mr. Gregor Mackenzie, and Mr. Gerald Kaufman, presented a Bill to provide for the establishment of two bodies corporate to be called British Aerospace and British Shipbuilders, and to make provision with respect to their functions; to provide for the vesting in British Aerospace of the securities of certain companies engaged in manufacturing aircraft and guided weapons and the vesting in British Shipbuilders of the securities of certain companies engaged in shipbuilding and allied industries; to make provision for the vesting in those companies of certain property, rights and liabilities; to provide for payments to British Aerospace and its wholly owned subsidiaries, for the purpose of promoting the design, development and production of civil aircraft, and for connected purposes: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time to morrow and to be printed.
