asked the Secretary of State for Energy what increases in United Kingdom oil refining capacity are planned in the next five years.

:Three new refinery developments amounting to 20 million not been debated, together with respective dates of the request from the Scrutiny Committee.

:The information is set out in the following table:tons a year gross capacity are the subject of planning inquiries, and construction of a further 6 million ton refinery has already begun. In addition, a number of lesser expansions at existing refineries are expected during the next five years.
