asked the Secretary of State for Energy when the Working Group under Dr. Marshall, to assess the economic rôle of combined heat and power production, was set up; when he expects a report; and if he will publish a White Paper to outline Government policy.

The group began its meetings on 19th February. The subject is complex and it is difficult to predict at this stage when the group will report, but it is unlikely to be before the end of the year. I shall then give sympathetic consideration to the question of publication.
