asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many unemployed persons in the Wirral metropolitan borough have been employed in their most recent jobs by the motor industry, the ship repairing industry, manufacturing industries as a whole, and service industries as a whole, respectively.

The following table shows the available information. The figures relate to the area covered by the Bebington, Birkenhead, Hoylake and Wallasey Employment Offices. Statistics are compiled for shipbuilding and ship repairing as a whole, but not separately for ship repairing.
