asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the latest available figure, converted into an annual rate, for our balance of trade with the original six members of the Common Market.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the latest balance of trade with other countries in the EEC.

In the first three months of this year our crude trade deficits with the other eight members of the EEC and original six were £601 million and £535 million respectively. On the same basis these figures produce annual rates of deficit of £2,404 million, and £2,140 million, respectively.
