asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what powers he has to direct regional and district authorities in Scotland to open local offices part-time or full-time in those towns which, until 15th May 1975, were classed as small burghs;(2) which towns in Scotland which were until 15th May 1975 classed as small burghs will not have local offices part-time or full-time under the new regional and district authorities.

The choice of office locations is within the discretion of the new local authorities and I regret that I do not have the detailed information requested.
