Mr. MacCormick
asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many claims for compensation for damage caused by Concorde have been received from residents and firms in Argyll; what propor- tion of these claims have been, respectively, allowed or disallowed; and how many claims are at present outstanding.
Mr. Meacher
Since Concorde began flying supersonically on the west coast route in 1970, 74 claims for compensation for damage have been received from residents and firms in Argyll. Of these 61 have been allowed, 11 have been disallowed: and two are currently outstanding.
