Sir P. Bryan
asked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will press the EEC to double its present food aid commitment from £1·3 million to £2·6 million.
Mrs. Hart
I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Northampton, North (Mrs. Colquhoun) on 20th February 1975—[Vol. 886, c. 497.] Since then the EEC Commission has proposed that Community food aid in cereals and in dried skimmed milk should be increased in 1975. I have indicated the British Government's support for these proposals, which are still under discussion.
