asked the Secretary of State for Trade what action he proposes to take in the light of the "Lovat" incident to improve training in survival at sea.
My Department will shortly be inviting interested organisations in the shipping industry to nominate representatives for a new ad hoc Committee to review the existing arrangements for training in survival at sea and
a carefully monitored experimental basis with effect from 19th June 1975, a new routeing devised in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Authority. Instead of following the single Mole Valley route as at present, traffic will, over part of the route between take-off and the beacon at Oakham, be split between two routes, one to the west and the other to the east of the existing one. Letters explaining what is intended will be sent to all who have been involved in consultation.
