asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the estimated total annual NHS revenue expenditure and capital expenditure respectively, for the North-Western Regional Health Authority for each of the years 1976 to 1980.

The total capital expenditure in 1975–76 is estimated to be £25·1 million, whilst the total revenue expenditure is £175·428 million. Allocation for 1976–77 onwards have not yet been made.

1. The figures are based on revenue expenditure including loan charges.
2. The proportions for 1972–73 and 1973–74 for the client groups exclude the costs of administration, social work staff and certain other services which cannot be apportioned.
3. The proportions on client groups for all three years exclude the cost of home helps.
4. Some information for 1971–72 is available only for the elderly and physically handicapped together and the mentally handicapped and mentally ill together.
5. The information for 1973–74 is provisional.

I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply today to my hon. Friend the Member for Edmonton (Mr. Graham) which gives information for the years 1964–65 to 1973–74. The accounts of National Health Service authorities for 1974–75 are not yet available.
