The current common import levy on butter—82 per cent. fat—is 144·03 ua/100 kgs, £746·07 per ton. The common levy on cheese varies according to type of cheese. On Cheddar cheese, it is 121·29 ua/100 kgs, £628·19 per ton; on matured Canadian Cheddar 15 ua/100 kgs £77·69 per ton. Rates of levy for the Irish Republic are reduced by accession compensatory amounts.Sterling equivalents have been calculated at the United Kingdom representative rate and Community arrangements for monetary compensation apply to trade.
