asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how the EEC calculates levies on soft wheat; and what notional world price has been used in the most recent week for which figures are available.
Each working day the Commission calculates the import levy to be applied on all imports of common wheat—that is, all wheat except "durum"—with effect from the following day. This is done by collecting information on cif prices for this wheat offered to the Community, correcting them to a standard EEC quality basis and, if they are for other ports, to a Rotterdam basis.
