asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection by how many times the rate of inflation has increased in the last three months, in terms of three-month increases in the retail price index, expressed at an annual rate.

Increases in the retail price index during recent three-monthly periods and expressed as an annual rate have been as follows.

The figure for the three months to May 1975 was very much influenced by the increases in indirect taxation introduced in the Budget.
