Mr. Newens
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he anticipates that he will be able to announce his decision on the expansion of Harlow new town.
Mr. John Silkin
I hope in the very near future to have completed my assessment of the development corporation's expansion proposals which has, unfortunately, taken longer than I expected. If I then decide to embark on the procedure for designation set out in the New Towns Act, a final decisison may be expected by the summer of 1976.
