asked the Secretary of State for Industry what Government help is being given to industry for the storage of waste paper so that it can be recycled; and what long-term steps he is taking to iron out the economic paper cycle for recycling.

No specific Government assistance is given at present towards the storage of waste paper. The need for Government help in the future is being examined by the Advisory Group on Waste Paper Recycling. The first report of this group is expected shortly.
