asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in the Official Report the Government's policies in respect of each of the economies of each of the standard regions in the British Isles.

No. The economies of the regions are mainly affected by the Government's overall policies which are aimed at strengthening the economy of the country as a whole. In addition, the Government's regional policy aims to wipe out the unjust and wasteful disparities between different parts of the country both by a system of aids and incentives for development in the assisted areas and by the development of integrated regional strategies.
