Para-Military Organisations (Government Talks)

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, with the representatives of what para-military organisations other than the Provisional IRA, there have been meetings by civil servants, and on how many occasions, in the last two months.

As I have told the House on a number of occasions, notably on 5th and 11th February, my officials have had talks with representatives of various organisations in Northern Ireland including Provisional Sinn Fein and these are continuing. It would not be sensible to give the information on numbers of meetings held or to list the organisations concerned since this would inhibit further exchanges.
