asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the likely sources of finances for the National Coal Board investment outlined in the "Plan for Coal".

The NCB can continue to rely on the usual sources of finance for capital expenditure: internally generated funds; borrowings, either from the National Loans Fund or abroad, including ECSC; and, when appropriate, leasing arrangements. As stated in the Final Report of the Coal Industry Examination 1974, the Government will be ready to consider dealing with any special problems of financing that arise.
